Elijah Wood says Hollywood Run By Elite Pedophile Ring

Can we focus on it's victims AND protect entertaining children?

elija wood pedo ring 9217

"Elijah Wood claims that the Hollywood scandal is on a scale similar to that of Jimmy Savile in the UK, in which the former TV star, who had a close relationship with the British Royal Family, was not only a serial pedophile that had abused literally hundreds of children, but he was also a procurer of children for elite pedophile rings."

That quote is a small part of the story featured by Neon Nettle at the link below. Ark of Hope for Children is grateful for their desire to share urgently important stories like this. (We give them full credit for their article and Elijah Wood's image).

How Sexual Abuse as A Child Leads To Overeating

How Sexual Abuse as A Child Leads To Overeating

The idea of tracing eating disorders back to childhood trauma was first brought to light in the late 1980s by Dr. Vincent Felitti. After finding initial success with many of his patients, Dr. Felitti noticed that sustained weight loss was extremely difficult for his patients to acquire. Some patients would gain back all of the weight they lost, and some would even gain more weight.

After conducting interviews with his patients, Dr. Felitti started to uncover a correlation between eating disorders and childhood trauma. More specifically, Dr. Felitti discovered that binge eating among some adult women can be traced back to sexual abuse they experienced when they were younger. In some cases, the women knew the abuse was wrong and created a series of emotional and mental obstacles to try and bury it in their minds. In other cases, the women admitted to not realizing that they were abused until it manifested itself in the form of binge eating.

Parents of child abuse victims

Scared 1

Non-offending and adoptive parents of child abuse survivors, Ark of Hope for Children strongly encourages your participation in the following study. The study is investigating barriers that parents face in utilizing mental health services for their children who have experienced abuse. This is another area of research that needs to be explored and it has immense impact for the recovery of child victims of abuse.

Cyberbullying: A New Way To Hurt in the Digital Age

thumb CyberBully 1

For children growing up in the age of cellphones and social media, cyberbullying has become as common as selfies - though a far cry from the harmless fun of taking a photo. Cyberbullying takes the form of rumors spread online, hateful and sometimes threatening messages, and humiliating videos or photographs shared without permission (sometimes real, other times doctored). The abuse can be relentless, sometimes driving young people to self-harm or suicide.

2017 A Look Back for Ark of Hope

With the arrival of Christmas 2017 Ark of Hope for Children wishes to express our deep gratitude to our many followers, volunteer supporters, advocates and of course the survivors that have trusted us. I cannot truly express how humbled I am by your level of care and patience with us during the past year. This year I…. WE hit severe compassion fatigue (burnout) after doing this for 20+ years and heavily online since 2008 when we began assisting survivors of child trafficking and child abuse online. Following the suicide of one teen and rejection of support by another, I spent a good portion of this year feeling as if I could not find words that could help others when I struggled at times to help myself. Yet you stood by us.

Crumbling finances took their toll as well.

Ark of Hope Christmas Wish 2017

It is with great joy that we think of all of the followers, survivors, contributors and volunteers that Ark of Hope for Children is blessed to know. You have so encouraged us this year and we are grateful for every one of you.

For many survivors holidays can be a difficult time indeed; From memories of personal atrocities they faced to missing what could have been and wasn’t for them. Yet with gentle, caring time spent volunteer advocates and peer survivors they are finding glimmers of hope. Ark of Hope for Children strives to bring as many glimmers as possible, and that has only been possible because of your support for us.

How to Support a Bullied Child

Ways to help support, deal with, and overcome bullying

Guest post by Carl McLean of Serious Parenting.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 160,000 kids per day do not attend school for fear of being bullied. This is a terribly sad statistic. These children live in a state of fear and dread of the physical, verbal, and mental aggression they face each day.

HOW DOES BULLYING AFFECT A CHILD

Those who do attend school go around in a chronic state of anxiety and depression. The long-term effects of bullying and living in this state of mind of anxiety and depression can be catastrophic to a child. If they are left in this toxic environment, it will affect them; possibly for the rest of their lives.

Prolonged exposure to bullying can have detrimental effects on a child’s self-esteem and their ability to trust. They can have trouble forming good relationships and are at a higher risk for substance abuse.

We all need to take an active role in preventing bullying. Sometimes, recognizing a bully is easy but there are other times when it may be less obvious.

Operation Extrteme Care

Ark of Hope for Children has a super volunteer and mentee that once aged-out of foster care and has been helping others ever since. While focusing on how to help other foster and once abused youth with how to age out with success, he enlisted in the military. Now a ranking officer in a war zone he is still only thinking of others and continues to help Ark of Hope from afar as he can.

He has been so supportive of our efforts, that when he reached about most of his “group” not getting care packages from home that Ark of Hope jumped on it. We have launched Operation Extreme Care and we need your $5 to $10 care packages rushed to us, so we can rush them to 80+ enlisted troops in an active war zone that need encouragement and moral boosts from home. No matter what your stance, let’s support these men AND women!
