Book Release for National Children’s Day 2017

The second Sunday in June of each year in the U.S. has been designated as National Children’s Day. This is a day we honor all ChildrensDay2017children and, as the founders of #NationalChildrensDay state so well, “There are many needs for today’s children... foster care, adoption, health care, protection from crime, education, spiritual/moral guidance, and most of all love by family and community. Children are a gift from God and they are our future.”

Ark of Hope for Children likes the idea of this holiday because they are noting the many children in need, in addition to all children. So Ark of Hope has chosen to join in the celebration of National Children’s Day 2017 which is on June 11.

To celebrate we have chosen National Children’s Day 2017 as the day we are formally announcing the release of our first book, Removing Chains of Child Abuse!

Raise Your Voice Against Accepting PedoSexuality

While most of society is busy running around, or arguing politics, others are very active in pushing their agenda’s. Some good.... Some quite twisted. Have you heard of the term Pedosexual? YourDictionary.com defines Pedosexual as “An adult who IS sexually active with children.”

I turn your attention to this article from April 23, 2017 in which Heart Progress, a gay rights organization joins others in asking, “Should the LGBTQ+ movement accept pedosexuals?” then the author answers, “I think that the answer is quite obvious: Absolutely!”

The article goes on to add, “Pedosexuals have helped achieve so much for the other sexual minority groups, that it would simply be unjust to allow them to suffer in discrimination due to hateful bigots on the right.”

#13ReasonsWhy: Tell Netflix to Stop Promoting Suicide

13 Reasons

"Thirteen Reasons Why" is a novel written by Jay Asher. Common Sense Media describes it as a "disturbing suicide novel” which “examines bullying and indifference." The book was published October 18, 2007. Four years later, it topped the New York Times best-seller list. Recently, it became the latest Netflix top hit in less than a month, making suicide a viral sensation.”

Netflix has given teenagers around the world thirteen reasons to kill themselves and neglected to consider that not all of us have voices in our lives that remind us why we should fight to stay alive.

Is Doing Good Good for Business

Corporate Philanthropy –
is the business of doing good, good for business?

DayIStopGiving 600

We all know that helping others is good for our individual health. Research at the University of California, Berkeley and Michigan for example has found that people who give back to their communities feel happier, are less stressed and live longer. But what of corporate giving? Is there evidence that helping others to flourish helps an organization to flourish too? At BuzzParent we believe there is and so we donate 20% of what we earn to charity. We think you will find corporate giving is a win-win all round; for you, your employees, your business and society as well.

‘Generosity and profit are compatible and even self-sustaining’ (BeyondMe 2015)."

2017 A Look Back for Ark of Hope

With the arrival of Christmas 2017 Ark of Hope for Children wishes to express our deep gratitude to our many followers, volunteer supporters, advocates and of course the survivors that have trusted us. I cannot truly express how humbled I am by your level of care and patience with us during the past year. This year I…. WE hit severe compassion fatigue (burnout) after doing this for 20+ years and heavily online since 2008 when we began assisting survivors of child trafficking and child abuse online. Following the suicide of one teen and rejection of support by another, I spent a good portion of this year feeling as if I could not find words that could help others when I struggled at times to help myself. Yet you stood by us.

Crumbling finances took their toll as well.

Ark of Hope Christmas Wish 2017

It is with great joy that we think of all of the followers, survivors, contributors and volunteers that Ark of Hope for Children is blessed to know. You have so encouraged us this year and we are grateful for every one of you.

For many survivors holidays can be a difficult time indeed; From memories of personal atrocities they faced to missing what could have been and wasn’t for them. Yet with gentle, caring time spent volunteer advocates and peer survivors they are finding glimmers of hope. Ark of Hope for Children strives to bring as many glimmers as possible, and that has only been possible because of your support for us.

How to Support a Bullied Child

Ways to help support, deal with, and overcome bullying

Guest post by Carl McLean of Serious Parenting.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 160,000 kids per day do not attend school for fear of being bullied. This is a terribly sad statistic. These children live in a state of fear and dread of the physical, verbal, and mental aggression they face each day.

HOW DOES BULLYING AFFECT A CHILD

Those who do attend school go around in a chronic state of anxiety and depression. The long-term effects of bullying and living in this state of mind of anxiety and depression can be catastrophic to a child. If they are left in this toxic environment, it will affect them; possibly for the rest of their lives.

Prolonged exposure to bullying can have detrimental effects on a child’s self-esteem and their ability to trust. They can have trouble forming good relationships and are at a higher risk for substance abuse.

We all need to take an active role in preventing bullying. Sometimes, recognizing a bully is easy but there are other times when it may be less obvious.

Operation Extrteme Care

Ark of Hope for Children has a super volunteer and mentee that once aged-out of foster care and has been helping others ever since. While focusing on how to help other foster and once abused youth with how to age out with success, he enlisted in the military. Now a ranking officer in a war zone he is still only thinking of others and continues to help Ark of Hope from afar as he can.

He has been so supportive of our efforts, that when he reached about most of his “group” not getting care packages from home that Ark of Hope jumped on it. We have launched Operation Extreme Care and we need your $5 to $10 care packages rushed to us, so we can rush them to 80+ enlisted troops in an active war zone that need encouragement and moral boosts from home. No matter what your stance, let’s support these men AND women!
