Flashbacks in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder;
Surviving the Flood
by Leslie Raddatz
Representing Ark of Hope for Children I, Blair Corbett, am so blessed to work with so many courageous warriors that are striving to rise from the ashes of child victimization. I am inspired by people that have built a victorious life upon the foundation of child abuse like my good friend Leslie Raddatz.
Leslie has written a book of her experiences as an adult victim of child abuse that processed her trauma as an adult. She wrote Flashbacks in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Surviving the Flood to encourage and inspire other victims.
It is written for other victims to reveal the road she travelled through flashbacks, body memories, nightmares and triggers. She shows you are not alone in what is going on within you. Her message is that you can take control of your life and restore it and be a survivor like her.
Like so many, Leslie tried to move beyond her past under her own strength. But her past refused to stay hidden. Leslie had been losing control of her emotions and her health started to show symptoms that the doctors couldn't identify a source for. For eleven years Leslie lived in fear not knowing what was happening to her.
Eventually she couldn't anymore and ended up in the hospital. They helped her reprocess her trauma from childhood neglect and abuse from infancy throughout her young adult years. She learned she had PTSD, Conversion, and Somatization disorders. Leslie learned coping skills, and how to independently take care of herself and become the wife and mother she had always longed to be. This book will explain what treatments she received and how she was able to get her life back within her control to become a successful woman today.
